For over 130 years, Mylands has remained one of the best-kept secrets of London’s master decorators and interior design specialists.

Established in 1884,  Mylands is Britain’s oldest family-run paint and polishes manufacturer. Spanning over four decades, they are curators of traditional craftsmanship and the finest quality products for your home based in Lambeth, South London. Mylands originally supplied only to trade, and the company has a  long-standing association with the film, television and theatre industry; their paints have been featured in some of the world’s most successful productions and projects.

Their story began back in 1884 when John Myland opened his shop in the heart of Lambeth. Unlike his competitors, John saw the value in using only the best materials in his creation of lustrous, vivid colours, possessing unrivalled quality. Over the years, their knowledge and expertise in the paint industry meant that they became renowned amongst the most discerning and demanding clientele - even earning a coveted Royal Warrant in 1985.

Today, Mylands’ exquisite range of products are available to customers who seek premium finishes and paints for their homes.

From their humble beginnings, Mylands have risen to the top of their industry by preserving the time-honoured, traditional approach to making great products. They also incorporate the latest technical advances in colour development - and in blending principles of the past and present, they have strived to create a collection that honours contemporary and period palettes. Unique recipes, superior ingredients and unwavering dedication to quality define the brand.

Their range of bespoke colours offers the very best depth and richness, which can only be achieved through traditional production methods, resulting in a variety of stunning period tones. Renowned for its outstanding coverage and opacity, their paint is exceptionally hardwearing and beautiful to look at, leaving a lasting impression wherever it’s used. Mylands have built up an unrivalled catalogue of samples and fragments of historic paints, wallpapers, distempers and plasters, giving them unique access to a vast collection of authentic period colours to bring out the best in any property, no matter what the era.
