A Kensington Hallway…

This project involved the complete renovation and restoration of this hallway and staircase, as well as the overhaul of a shower room and WC. The property was a townhouse in Kensington and the hallway area had not been fully renovated in approximately 40 years.

Encaustic cement tiles were installed in the entrance hallway. These have a traditional pattern in keeping with the building’s heritage but have a vibrant and contemporary colour palette of greens, oranges and blues to lift the space and compliment the stair-runner and curtains.

The downstairs WC was also renovated, with the encaustic cement tiles continuing through to this room to give the feeling of more space. Due to the nature of the tiles, these required sealing before and after the installation to ensure they were protected. We think they are absolutely beautiful and really compliment the building.
