The natural woodfinishing treatment for all types of wood, in the home and in the workshop for all wood craftsmen.

A blend of Beeswax and Carnauba waxes to give an instant natural sheen to bare wood or over Sanding Sealer. Ideal for wood carvings and turned wood, for floors and skirtings. Briwax cleans and protects wood, tiles, metalwork, marble and melamine etc. Available in clear, which maintains the natural colour of the wood, and other wood shades to stain and wax in one operation. Briwax is extensively used in the pine furniture industry. Available in Briwax and Briwax Original. Apply with 0000 steel wool, Briwax brushes or cloth.

Instructions:

New Timber
Timber should be sanded and free of dust and grease. If you wish to dye the wood, this must be done before applying Briwax Original.
For most timbers Briwax Original is applied directly onto the raw or dyed timber. Apply using 0000 steel wool. Use a small amount of wax, working along the grain until you have covered the entire surface. Allow to dry for 2-3 minutes, then buff the desired gloss with a soft cloth. If you are using sawn pine or other similar timbers, you should note that the end grain and rough cut areas of the grain will pick up more wax, and appear darker than the surrounding timber. Ensure that you sand these areas with extra effort before staining or waxing. For intricate areas apply Briwax Original with a hand or drill brush and polish with a soft brush. For a higher gloss apply a second application as before.

Antiques & Other Furniture:
Apply a small amount to a test area to ensure compatibility with existing finish. Apply Briwax Original with a slightly coarse cloth to ensure an even coat, buff as soon as dry. Polish occasionally using a soft cloth; if shine appears to be fading apply a little more wax.

Maintenance:
If the wax finish becomes damaged or marked, it is usually possible to touch up a small area using Briwax Original and 0000 steel wool. Remove damage with steel wool and then gently apply the wax to the damaged area, then polish up when dry.

Note:
As Briwax Original is a natural wax and contains no silicone or other artificial surfactants, it is not recommended for use in areas where it will be directly subjected to moisture, heat or constant water spillages.
Always test the product on an inconspicuous when applying.

There are two types of products that you can order from Period Property Store, which will affect delivery:

   1. 'Standard' products are products that do not fall into our 'Big & Bulky' category.
   2. 'Big & Bulky' products require palletised or specialist courier delivery.

Our 'Standard Parcel Delivery' & 'Next Day Parcel Delivery' options are not available for products marked 'Big & Bulky'

All orders are subject to product availability. We aim to process all orders within five working days.

Depending on your delivery postcode and which products you order, delivery charges may apply.

All delivery times and dates are estimates. We will try our best to meet the delivery estimates we have given you but shall not be responsible for any failure to deliver ordered products within these stated time frames. We will let you know if we cannot deliver your products within 30 days of when we receive payment from you, and give you the opportunity to either wait for the products or cancel your order. If you choose to cancel your order we will give you a full refund.

Our next day delivery service applies to working weekdays only and does not include weekends or bank holidays. This service is available up until 14:00 GMT on the day of placing an order. Orders received after 14:00 GMT with be dispatched on the following working weekday.

We are not able to process orders or deliver on UK bank holidays and Sundays.

We strongly recommend that you do not book fitters or tradesmen until your order has actually been delivered and checked by you. We cannot be held responsible for any third-party charges incurred due to non-delivery of an order, or orders that have not been checked on delivery.

All orders will be delivered to a single address. For security reasons your first order using a credit/debit card for the first time when placed online or by phone will need to be delivered to the cardholder's address. Subsequent orders can then be made to an alternative address.

We will always endeavour to make one single delivery to you wherever possible to minimise any inconvenience. This means that when your order contains a mix of products with different delivery lead times, the longest lead time will apply to the whole order.

All deliveries must be received and signed for by a person over the age of 18. If no-one is available to take the delivery, we will leave details at the address to rearrange delivery. We may need to make an additional handling charge for redelivery. Should no-one be available to take the redelivery we may cancel the order and refund your money, excluding any delivery charges.

Due to insurance guidelines, delivery personnel are unable to enter private residences. The recipient of the products is responsible for any additional lifting once the delivery has been made.

For orders requiring palletised delivery the haulage company will attempt to deliver pallets as close as possible to your required position, usually to the closest hard-standing area. The haulage company is under no obligation to remove items from the pallet, nor carry items into your property. You should warn the Company if there is restricted access, soft or gravelled driveways.

Please ensure you provide your telephone number and e-mail address when you place your order.

Returns and Refunds:

You may return an unwanted item for any reason within 14 days from the date of delivery and we promise to give you a refund, excluding any delivery costs. Any returned item must be in exactly the same condition as it was originally received. Any faulty/damaged item may be returned for a refund within 30 days of delivery.

In the unlikely event that an item has been damaged during delivery, we will exchange the item or provide you with a full refund. Notification of any defect must be made within 5 days of the product being delivered to you, and return of the item must be with 14 days of delivery. We reserve the right to inspect all returned products prior to agreeing to any part-refund, full refund or product exchange.

Certain products offered on the website have specific, stated delivery times which supersede the standard delivery proposal (please see individual product details on the website).

Please note that made-to-measure items may not be returned unless they are faulty. This includes, but is not limited to, sectional radiators.

All refunds will be made within 30 days of notification to the account originally used to purchase the product.
